Today we watched "Who Killed the Electric Car?" We will finish it on Monday.
Next week we will start on matter cycles

No HW today, but make sure you have handed in the energy audit assignment (on the teams assignment) and the electricity generation assignment (from last week). We wrap up electricity and start matter cycles on Thursday.
Finish the electricity generation assignment (find on the class team) - due at the beginning of class Thursday
on Thursday you will get another assignment about electricity use. You can preview it on the classroom team now No homework this weekend. Have a great weekend. If you were not in class today, I will need an email from a parent before you can write the test
Electricity unit test Friday
Check answers to review questions on electricity page Test will consist of some easy questions and some more difficult ones. Expect: - a few modified true/false questions - a few (<10 multiple choice questions) - some short answer (explanation) questions - some calculations questions for which you will need to SHOW WORK - at least one question requiring you to draw a schematic diagram - one or two more challenging questions to stretch your thinking Finish the two Ohm's law practice worksheets - if you were absent find them on the electricity page
- if you didn't demonstrate your ammeter/voltmeter skills today, be ready to do that on Friday - Friday we will start on electrical power. Check the electricity page and watch a video if you want a preview If you have not handed in the "investigating Resistance" lab, finish and hand in next day. If you were not in class today, find the worksheet here and complete it using the PHET online DC circuit simulation
You should be comfortable with: - finding current in series and parallel circuits - finding voltage in series and parallel circuits - using Ohm's law to find current, voltage, and resistance - comparing the resistance of series and parallel circuits - using a voltmeter and an ammeter (you will need to show that you can do this) Electricity unit test: Friday November 15 |
